4th Wednesday Retreats
on found words, images, and things in the woods
(half-day small group retreat)
4th Wednesday Retreats
9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
(will start up again in Spring 2025)
Join three to five others for a guided practice at attending to how what is unfolding in the created world speaks to what is unfolding in your life.
You will be guided through three movements into the woods and back that invite you to pay attention, holding a different question or focus each time. As you wander and then settle somewhere at Fern Creek, you’ll be invited to pay attention to your surroundings—so that a tree, bird song, cracked stone, insect, squirrel, hawk, goats and hens, falling leaves, flowing water might open a way for you to see afresh, to hear differently, to receive an image or word God might have for you just now.

Bring an open and curious heart, a journal, a camera (a phone works well) or sketching pad and pencils (or both), and wear clothes and shoes suited for wandering through woods.

Before each movement we'll gather and hear words from a poet that will draw us toward the question to be held for that movement, which will shift with the seasons.

We'll begin at 9:30 and conclude the morning eating a simple lunch together, with the optional opportunity to share a thought, photo, drawing--and so to see, hear, and be encouraged by each other's noticings.
Cost: $75 (includes lunch)
